Role:
Imagine your employer ensures that hundreds of river cruise ships travel safely and smoothly across Europe – it is precisely in this exciting environment that we are looking for an experienced individual for the position of Senior Accountant for our ROCKEN partner, a world-leading independent provider in the field of inland navigation with over 4,000 employees. At the Basel location, you will take on professional responsibility for financial accounting and contribute your expertise in financial statements, audits, and payment transactions.
Responsibilities:
You are responsible for financial accounting including general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, asset accounting, and periodic accruals
You independently and punctually prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to OR and/or Swiss GAAP FER, including variance analyses
You assist in the preparation of tax returns
You prepare audits, accompany them, and act as the direct contact person for auditors and tax authorities
You create ad-hoc evaluations and reports as required
You step in for payment transactions when needed and act as deputy
Qualifications:
You have completed a commercial apprenticeship (EFZ) or an equivalent qualification and have further training in finance and accounting (e.g. professional certificate, fiduciary with federal FA or ongoing training)
You bring several years of proven experience in financial accounting – either as a chief accountant or in a fiduciary environment
You are familiar with Swiss accounting and tax law (OR, Swiss GAAP FER and/or IFRS); contacts with audit firms and authorities are a plus
You are confident in German and English, both spoken and written
You are characterised by an independent, precise, and responsible working style as well as analytical, interconnected thinking
You are proficient in using M365; knowledge of SAP Business One and Lucanet rounds off your profile
