Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Chief Site Manager in Infrastructure and Civil Engineering to lead demanding construction projects in Eastern Switzerland. The focus is on projects in road, railway, bridge, utility and hydraulic engineering for public and private clients. You will be responsible in particular for the phases from tendering through execution to acceptance and project handover and ensure compliance with costs, deadlines and quality. You will act as the central interface between client, planning offices, authorities and executing companies.
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for local site management in demanding infrastructure and civil engineering projects
Support of projects for federal, cantonal, municipal authorities, railway infrastructure operators and private clients
Site management for projects in road construction, railway construction, bridge construction, utility construction and hydraulic engineering
Participation in early project phases from studies and design to approval and permitting procedures
Responsibility for tendering, submission, offer comparison, awarding and realisation of construction services
Control and monitoring of costs, deadlines, quality and construction progress as well as conducting the corresponding controlling
Coordination of involved contractors, specialist planners, experts, authorities and utility owners
Leading construction meetings, preparing minutes and monitoring pending issues and contractual obligations
Review of quantities, time sheets, change orders and contractor invoices as well as support in cost management
Ensuring proper execution according to project documents, contracts and relevant SIA standards
Support of acceptances, defect rectification, commissioning and handover of structures including final documentation
Assuming the central interface function between client, planning and execution throughout the entire realisation phase
Qualifications:
Certified technician HF in construction planning/site management, civil engineer BSc/MSc FH/ETH or comparable education in construction
Several years of professional experience in site management or construction management of infrastructure and civil engineering projects
Solid expertise in road, railway, bridge, utility or hydraulic engineering
Experience with tendering, contracts, cost control, quantities and change management
Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction processes
Experience in coordinating complex projects with public clients, planners and executing companies
