Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a creative and committed professional for architectural design work and the handling of demanding architectural competitions. You will develop independent design ideas, create convincing spatial concepts and actively contribute your architectural skills to an interdisciplinary competition team. The focus is on the conceptual development of high-quality architectural projects, the preparation of competition entries, and the combination of design quality and constructive feasibility. The position combines creative design competence, spatial imagination and independent project work with an open and team-oriented working style.

Responsibilities:

• Active participation in the development and handling of demanding architectural competitions for diverse building projects with various usage and design requirements

• Development of independent architectural design concepts considering spatial, functional, urban planning and design framework conditions

• Development and optimisation of floor plan, section and façade concepts with a special focus on architectural quality, proportions and spatial effect

• Preparation of feasibility studies, concept variants and design studies to assess different architectural solution approaches

• Creation of digital architectural models and three-dimensional design representations to develop and verify spatial concepts

• Preparation of high-quality competition plans, presentation materials and visualisations to convincingly present architectural ideas

• Analysis of competition programmes, room programmes and project-specific requirements as well as integration of relevant specifications into design development

• Development of material, façade and design concepts with particular attention to architectural identity and constructive feasibility

• Review and consideration of building law, technical and economic framework conditions during concept and competition processing

• Close collaboration with architects, project managers and other disciplines for the integral development of demanding design solutions

• Preparation and participation in internal design meetings and project presentations as well as active involvement in design discussions and decision-making processes

• Independent handling of defined competition and design tasks while meeting deadlines and high design quality standards

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies at ETH or FH or a comparable recognised university degree in architecture

• Strong passion for architectural design and competition work as well as interest in developing innovative, independent and high-quality architectural concepts

• Solid spatial, design and constructive understanding and the ability to translate architectural ideas into convincing and feasible design solutions

• Knowledge of architectural concept and preliminary project planning as well as understanding of urban contexts, functional requirements and relevant building law framework conditions

• Confident use of common CAD, 3D modelling and presentation programmes as well as experience in the graphic preparation of design and competition documents

• Independent, structured and responsible working style with pronounced creativity, initiative and enjoyment in handling demanding design challenges

• Good German language skills in spoken and written form for internal project communication as well as team spirit, openness to constructive dialogue and enjoyment in jointly developing high-quality architecture
