Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional as a Technician HF Building Planning / Certified Construction Manager in Structural Engineering for an established architectural firm focusing on demanding new build, conversion and renovation projects in residential and commercial construction. You will independently lead and coordinate execution projects and accompany construction projects from technical planning through tendering to successful realisation. The focus is on on-site construction management, cost estimation, scheduling, cost control and ensuring high-quality construction execution. The position combines sound building planning, practical construction management and constructive detail development with high personal responsibility and diverse design opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Independent leadership and coordination of structural engineering projects in the areas of new build, conversion and renovation of residential and commercial properties

• Organisation and supervision of construction execution including site coordination, workflow planning and coordination of involved trades

• Preparation of tenders and cost estimates including specifications, quantity surveys and technical execution descriptions

• Conducting offer comparisons and preparing awards as well as assisting in the preparation and review of contracts for work

• Creation and monitoring of construction programmes and schedules to ensure coordinated and timely construction progress

• Cost control and project controlling including cost forecasts, invoice verification, change management and final accounts

• Quality assurance on site through regular execution checks and review of constructive details

• Coordination of architects, specialist planners, clients and contractors to ensure smooth project execution

• Organisation and leadership of construction meetings including minute-taking, action item management and follow-up of agreed measures

• Participation in execution and detail planning as well as review of CAD plans regarding technical feasibility and execution quality

• Monitoring compliance with relevant SIA standards and building regulations, especially SIA 118 as well as applicable safety and quality requirements

• Organisation of construction acceptance and project handovers including defect management, final documentation and support of warranty work

Qualifications:

• Completed training as Technician HF Building Planning or certified Construction Manager Structural Engineering HFP or equivalent recognised qualification

• Alternatively, completed training as draughtsperson EFZ specialising in architecture with corresponding further training and practical construction management experience

• Professional experience in independent construction management and execution planning, ideally in new build, conversion and renovation projects in Swiss structural engineering

• Sound knowledge in cost estimation, tendering and awarding as well as in construction cost management, scheduling and contractor coordination

• Good knowledge of Swiss SIA standards and building laws, especially relevant construction processes and technical execution standards

• Confident handling of CAD software and common construction administration programmes for planning, tendering, cost control and project management

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for construction management, technical documentation and communication with project participants
