Role:
Design, automate and reliably operate infrastructure
You don’t just want to manage existing systems but actively develop their architecture? In this role, you combine solid Linux engineering with modern container technologies, automation, and demanding customer infrastructures. You take technical responsibility for the entire lifecycle of the platforms – from concept through operation to scaling.
Responsibilities:
Container architecture: You further develop existing platforms with Rancher and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You focus on scalability, stability, and sustainable architecture.
Linux engineering: You maintain and optimise Linux systems, especially RHEL, and bring your operational experience into complex infrastructure projects.
Troubleshooting: For demanding incidents, you systematically investigate causes, assess risks, and develop comprehensible solution options.
Technical customer consulting: As a contact person in second- and third-level support, you explain technical contexts, present solutions, and support customers in making informed decisions.
Standardisation and automation: You document best practices, improve recurring processes, and automate tasks that can be standardised across different customer environments.
Security and resilience: You integrate security aspects into daily infrastructure operations and, depending on the project, deal with topics such as backup and restore, logging, storage, reverse proxy, or WAF.
Technological development: You contribute your assessments to the team, question existing solutions, and support the expansion of geographically distributed platforms.
Qualifications:
A higher education degree in computer science or a comparable qualification through several years of professional experience.
Solid practical experience in Linux and infrastructure engineering as well as in operating productive systems.
Experience in at least one relevant infrastructure area, such as Kubernetes, automation, storage, logging, backup/restore or reverse proxy/WAF.
A good understanding of IT security, operational risks, and reliable technical standards.
An analytical and independent working style as well as the ambition to continuously improve infrastructure services.
Enjoyment of direct customer contact, technical collaboration, and knowledge sharing in a self-organised team.
Very good German skills for collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
