An experienced individual is sought for a demanding IT infrastructure environment who will be responsible for planning, implementing and further developing highly available on-premise platforms. The focus is on virtualisation, data centre infrastructure and the reliable provision of critical IT systems.
The position combines technical engineering with architectural work, lifecycle responsibility and continuous optimisation of availability, security and automation. Close collaboration with other infrastructure specialists is involved.
Responsibilities:
Planning, implementation and orchestration of on-premise ICT platforms with a focus on server and client virtualisation
Configuration and optimisation of the virtual infrastructure from the hardware level to the guest operating system
Co-design of the ICT architecture and definition of interfaces to network, operating systems, authentication services and other platforms
Responsibility for the lifecycle of virtualisation platforms as well as further development regarding availability, security and data integrity
Operation and optimisation of virtualisation environments based on Broadcom VMware as well as support in general ICT infrastructure operation
Conducting fault analyses, performance diagnostics and capacity planning as well as maintaining technical documentation
Qualifications:
Completed IT education with appropriate further training or comparable technical qualification with many years of virtualisation experience
Solid experience in planning, implementing and operating IT platforms and on-premise infrastructures
In-depth knowledge of Broadcom VMware, especially VCF and NSX, as well as experience with server and client virtualisation
Good knowledge of storage technologies such as vSAN, SAN/FC, block storage, filer and S3 as well as ideally Cisco Intersight
Experience with automation, for example Ansible or Terraform, and a strong awareness of security, standardisation and reliable operation
Very good German skills and good English skills, analytical and independent working style as well as willingness for maintenance duties and on-call service
