A Project Manager – Waste at 80%

We are looking for the urban environment service

Under the direction of the head of the urban environment service, you will participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the waste management strategy at the municipal level and collaborate in the development of projects and actions related to the function.

Your mission

• You develop and implement projects and actions contributing to the achievement of the municipal waste management strategy, in compliance with the applicable legal framework;
• You analyse the adequacy of the available resources, notably collection points, and propose improvement measures regarding equipment, collections or services;
• You ensure the monitoring of service providers, collect and analyse field data to evaluate and improve services;
• You participate in the implementation and operational, administrative and financial monitoring of specific and/or cross-cutting projects;
• You ensure the monitoring and invoicing of the waste tax for businesses;
• You participate in the preparation, monitoring and budget control of the sections assigned to you;
• You participate in the development of real estate projects (neighbourhood plan, building, etc.) regarding waste recovery;
• You contribute to the preparation and monitoring of calls for tenders, in compliance with public procurement regulations;
• You inform, raise awareness and encourage residents, caretakers, businesses and municipal services to adopt good practices in waste management and cleanliness.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science or equivalent training;
• Experience or additional training in waste management;
• Proven experience in project management and in the field of public procurement (AIMP);
• You have very good knowledge of Excel, especially for data analysis, statistics, and the preparation of financial data tracking tables;
• Your sense of priorities and organisational skills allow you to efficiently manage several files and projects simultaneously, respecting deadlines;
• You have good interpersonal and writing skills and are comfortable communicating with various stakeholders, both orally and in writing;
• You demonstrate initiative and are proactive in identifying needs and contributing to service improvement;
• You work autonomously in conducting your activities and show a strong sense of public service; knowledge of Geneva institutions and sector actors is an asset.
