Azure Cloud Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
Is Azure more than just a cloud portal to you? We are looking for a technically strong Cloud Engineer who designs, automates and continuously develops modern Azure platforms. The focus is on Infrastructure as Code, Cloud Security and scalable platforms – ideal for professionals who truly live cloud engineering.
Responsibilities:
Planning, building and further developing modern Microsoft Azure platforms
Designing scalable and highly available cloud infrastructures
Automating Azure resources with Infrastructure as Code
Developing and maintaining Bicep templates for standardised cloud deployments
Using Terraform for cross-platform infrastructure automation
Developing PowerShell scripts to automate cloud and operational processes
Building reusable Infrastructure-as-Code modules and standards
Automating provisioning, configuration and lifecycle management
Integrating Azure services into existing hybrid IT landscapes
Further developing network, identity and security concepts within the Azure platform
Implementing Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC and modern access concepts
Applying zero-trust principles and security-by-design
Optimising cloud costs, performance and resource consumption
Building monitoring, logging and observability solutions
Participating in cloud migrations and technical modernisation projects
Analysing and optimising existing Azure environments
Creating technical concepts, standards and documentation
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in Azure cloud engineering or a comparable technical role
Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Azure platform
Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code
Practical experience with Bicep, Terraform or comparable IaC technologies
Very good PowerShell skills and enthusiasm for automation
Experience with Azure networking, compute, storage and identity
Good knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and RBAC
Understanding of cloud security and zero-trust architectures
Experience with CI/CD and automated deployments is an advantage
Knowledge of Git, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or comparable platforms
Experience with monitoring and observability is an advantage
Analytical thinking and structured approach
Enjoyment in developing technical standards and reusable solutions
Education or degree in computer science, cloud engineering, systems engineering or comparable technical qualification
