Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional as a Project Manager Architecture for an established Swiss architectural firm specialising in demanding building projects for private and public clients. You will take on the independent overall project management of diverse construction projects across all SIA planning phases, from feasibility study to building handover. The focus is on the professional leadership of interdisciplinary planning teams, execution planning and realisation, as well as ensuring costs, deadlines and architectural quality. You coordinate collaboration with clients, authorities, specialist planners and contractors and implement demanding architectural projects using ArchiCAD and Messerli.

Responsibilities:

• Overall project management architecture: Independently leading demanding building projects for private and public clients from project development to building handover

• Project execution according to SIA 102: Responsible for planning and realisation across all relevant SIA phases 21-53, including preliminary studies, design, tendering and realisation

• Interdisciplinary team leadership: Professionally leading and coordinating architects, draftsmen, specialist planners and other project participants

• Feasibility and project studies: Developing and assessing usage concepts, feasibility studies, project variants and construction development possibilities

• Design and project coordination: Ensuring architectural design, constructive feasibility and technical coordination during project development

• Execution and working planning: Responsible for and controlling execution, working and detail plans as well as coordinating technical planning with involved disciplines

• BIM and ArchiCAD planning: Coordinating digital 2D/3D architectural planning with ArchiCAD and monitoring plan statuses, building models and plan revisions

• Tendering and awarding: Managing the preparation of specifications, submissions, offer comparisons and awarding recommendations with Messerli

• Cost and budget management: Monitoring cost estimates, cost forecasts, project budgets and cost projections during planning and realisation

• Schedule and milestone planning: Creating and monitoring project schedules, plan delivery programmes and binding project milestones

• Client and authority coordination: Leading project meetings, decision-making processes and technical coordination with clients, authorities and external specialists

• Realisation and project completion: Supporting construction execution, quality assurance, approvals and building handover in cooperation with site management and contractors

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies at ETH or FH with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or an equivalent recognised higher education qualification

• At least six years of professional experience in Switzerland as a Project Manager Architecture, especially in execution planning and realisation of demanding building projects

• Proven experience in professional leadership of interdisciplinary planning teams as well as independent responsibility for costs, deadlines and quality

• Sound knowledge of all relevant SIA service phases, especially SIA 102, as well as Swiss building regulations, approval procedures and project execution processes

• Very good user knowledge of ArchiCAD for digital architectural and execution planning as well as Messerli for tendering, cost planning and construction administration

• In-depth knowledge of building construction, architectural design, detail planning and project management as well as experience working with public and private clients

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for independent project management, negotiation and technical communication with all project participants
