Main goal
The Football Technologies Assistant supports the Football Operations team in overseeing the correct use and implementation of the various football technologies, with a particular focus on VAR and player tracking for the relevant UEFA competitions. The position-holder collaborates to help the unit achieve its project objectives with the appropriate level of service and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting project management and coordinating the delivery of football technology services at the various UEFA competitions
- Supporting the analysis and development of tracking and event data projects using Python or similar tools, including data processing, cleaning and transformation; quality assurance checks and generating insightful analyses and reports
- Ensuring the correct implementation of video and data services for team analysts
- Recording, reporting, monitoring and filing incidents involving football technologies
Requirements
Experience:
- From 1 to 3 years' experience in a technical or data-related role in the sports industry
Education:
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in data science, data analytics or equivalent
Languages:
- English: Proficient
- Any other European language would be an asset
Other requirements:
- Project management: Intermediate
- Strong analytical and administrative skills
- Proficient in Python for data cleaning, analysis and visualisation
- A demonstrable interest in football
