ES Technician – Industrial Equipment Projects & Improvement

Founded in 1981 in Forel, near Lausanne, Metalcolor SA specialises in continuous paint application on aluminium ("coil coating").

To strengthen our technical team, we are looking for a motivated ES Technician passionate about industrial projects and continuous improvement, with a desire to imagine, design and implement technical solutions aimed at optimising our production equipment.

Your responsibilities

• Design and implement improvements on our machines and installations
• Develop parts, tools and sub-assemblies in 3D
• Participate in automation, modernisation and investment projects
• Enhance the safety, ergonomics, reliability and performance of equipment
• Manage projects from defining requirements through to assembly and commissioning
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners

The role is focused 80–90% on continuous improvement, projects and innovation.

Additionally, you will occasionally act as a stand-in maintenance technician within the maintenance team and participate in the on-call service according to the established rota.

Your profile

• ES Technician in industrial systems or equivalent training. A Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as an automation technician is also suitable with proven experience in 3D design, technical solution development or industrial projects.
• Several years of proven experience in a similar role
• A strong interest in technology, design and problem-solving
• Good knowledge of mechanics, industrial electricity, pneumatics and/or automation
• Proficiency in a 3D design software: Inventor, Fusion 360, SolidWorks or equivalent
• Autonomous, curious, pragmatic and comfortable working on site
• You are willing to perform on-call duties and live within 30 minutes of Forel/Lavaux or are ready to relocate
