About the job
Your tasks
- Lifecycle management of our on-premises infrastructure (server, storage & backup): proactive planning, budgeting and timely renewal of systems
- Engineering and operation of the backup infrastructure including ensuring recoverability (restore tests)
- Operation and further development of the storage infrastructure
- Operation, maintenance and further development of our Windows Server environment
- Automation of recurring tasks with PowerShell
- Patch management of on-premises Windows Servers with Azure Update Manager
- Creation and maintenance of operational documentation and standards
- Participation in platform team projects as well as collaboration with suppliers and internal specialist departments
- Analysis and resolution of faults in 2nd and 3rd level support
Your profile
For this role, we are looking for a conscientious, precise individual with a forward-thinking mindset. You plan long-term, always keep the lifecycle of the systems entrusted to you in view and value reliability and quality. You enjoy working in a team, communicate clearly and take responsibility for your topics. Additionally, you bring the following:
- Completed training in IT (apprenticeship with further education, HF/FH or equivalent)
- Several years of practical experience as an ICT System Engineer in the areas of server, storage and backup
- Very good knowledge of Windows Server
- Solid experience with backup technologies and concepts (data backup, replication, restore)
- Experience in lifecycle management of on-premises hardware
- Knowledge of Azure Update Manager is an advantage
- Experience with our deployed technologies is an advantage: Huawei Storage, IBM Tape Library, Veeam, NetVault, Cisco SAN, VMware, Proxmox VE, Red Hat OpenShift
- Very good German skills (understanding Swiss German)
