Scientific Collaborator in Plant Sciences

Your areas of activity with us

• Contribute to the establishment of a soil monitoring programme aimed at harmonising monitoring activities at the European level
• Set up equipment at the Swiss monitoring site and collect data on erosion caused by wind, water and ploughing
• Obtain information from local stakeholders through surveys and workshops to support measures
• Analyse Swiss data and model soil erosion at the catchment area scale
• Collect data from all European monitoring sites, check their quality, produce statistical analyses and publications
• Use standardised methods to ensure up-to-date and accurate data that meet the needs of modellers, and validate the selected indicators

Your background, ideally

• Degree from a university of applied sciences (master’s or doctorate) in agronomy or a related discipline
• Very good knowledge of agronomic sciences and soil science
• Experience in monitoring and modelling soil erosion, data analysis and programming languages (e.g. R or Python)
• Strong motivation, ability to work independently, resilience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Native French or German speaker with good knowledge of the other language and excellent command of English
