Senior Server & Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
Coordination and supervision of site integration during the physical installation of server and network infrastructures in laboratory and production data centres according to defined standards
Installation, configuration and administration of Linux and Windows servers as well as KVM virtualisation environments
Execution of hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting and fault analyses at component level as well as replacement and repair of defective hardware
Provision of software images and execution of basic configurations of network switches and routing components
Support in the evaluation and selection of server hardware, especially high-density GPU servers, as well as creation of technical documentation and collaboration in hardware validation, burn-in and automation processes
Qualifications:
Completed bachelor's degree or comparable combination of training, technical further education and professional experience; certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA A+ are advantageous
More than 5 years of experience in the installation, configuration and administration of Linux and Windows systems in large, international IT environments
Solid practical experience with server hardware at component level, especially BIOS, vBIOS, firmware, IPMI, CPU and memory tests as well as burn-in procedures
Good knowledge of basic network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, SMB, HTTP, NFS, FTP, SNMP and DHCP as well as experience with switch configuration, VLANs, access and trunk ports
Quick comprehension and high technology affinity as well as a pronounced ability to collaborate with development, server, storage, network and security teams
