IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
A technically versatile organisation is looking for a committed System Engineer to operate and further develop modern IT infrastructures. This involves not only the reliable operation of existing systems but especially the evaluation of new technologies and the implementation of future-proof solutions.
You will work on varied customer and infrastructure projects, operating at the interface between system engineering, cloud, network, and cyber security. Personal responsibility and a solution-oriented approach are central components of the role.
Responsibilities:
Administration and optimisation of heterogeneous Windows and Linux system landscapes
Implementation of cloud and hybrid infrastructures based on Azure and Microsoft 365
Technical support of system migrations including planning, implementation, testing, and handover to operations
Taking on own sub-projects and collaborating on comprehensive infrastructure and digitalisation projects
Troubleshooting complex infrastructure, network, and system issues in 2nd and 3rd level support
Ensuring complete and comprehensible documentation of systems, configurations, and changes
Qualifications:
Solid practical experience as a System Engineer or in a comparable role
Good knowledge of Windows Server, Windows Client, and common virtualisation solutions such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox
Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Exchange
Broad understanding of network architectures including routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, and WLAN as well as modern cloud networking concepts
Basic to good know-how in cyber security, especially EDR/XDR/MDR, vulnerability management, patch management, and email security
Knowledge in backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, as well as security assessments and awareness; very good German skills and good English skills
