In this role, you develop and optimise the control software of modern machine solutions and actively shape the further development of future machine platforms. You work closely with internal development teams as well as customers, implement new software functions, and ensure high quality and reliability of the systems through structured testing. You take responsibility for the software architecture, technical advancements, and, if interested, also for demanding hardware projects.
Responsibilities:
Further development and programming of PLC software for new mechanical engineering series and customer-specific functions in the field of sheet metal processing
Development and optimisation of C++ software solutions to extend existing machine functions
Design and implementation of new software features in collaboration with development teams and customers
Co-design and further development of the software architecture as well as technical standards
Execution of software tests on the simulator and occasional tests directly on machines at the customer’s site
Expansion of automated test procedures and creation of comprehensive technical documentation
Analysis of complex technical requirements and implementation of sustainable software solutions
Opportunity to take on tasks in hardware project management with appropriate experience and interest
Qualifications:
Completed higher education or further training in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical field
Practical basic training as an automation technician EFZ or a similar technical education
Several years of experience in PLC programming with Structured Text, ideally in the environment of Beckhoff controllers
Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming, preferably with C++
Experience with safety applications such as TwinSAFE or SafeMotion is an advantage
Understanding of complex technical systems and enthusiasm for developing innovative machine solutions
Independent, analytical, and structured working style with a high standard of quality
Strong problem-solving skills and quick comprehension of demanding technical contexts
Team-oriented personality with enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
Fluent German language skills
