The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé's leading R&D center for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home.

As a "R&D Machine Technical Team Leader for Nespresso", you will be the driving force behind our team's technical success for our B2C Nespresso portfolio and the development of new coffee machines. You will ensure the seamless execution of projects, meeting budget, timeline, quality, compliance, and product specifications.
As a subject matter expert, you will be the go-to person for all technical questions, and your expertise will have a significant impact on team's performance, project direction, and overall innovation aligns with our business strategy.
In this role, you will manage, coach, develop and guide a small team towards implementing new challenging technical solutions. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Development, Marketing, etc.) and with external strategic partners & equipment manufacturers (OEM) to achieve a common goal.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Machine Technical Team Leader for Nespresso
- Ensure overall execution of B2C coffee machines development projects portfolio while developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation and technical specifications
- Develop and prototype new products, features, or technologies, utilizing advanced engineering principles and techniques
- Manage your own project end-to-end from brief to product launch, ensuring budget allocations, cost time and quality criteria are met
- Be the Subject Matter Expert and provide expertise in the execution and use of supporting tools, processes, design reviews and methods
- Research and analyze emerging technologies, industry trends, and market demands to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Act as a technical leader in cross-functional collaboration (Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Development, Marketing, etc.)
- Identify & collaborate with external strategic partners, vendors, and research institution to leverage their expertise and resources in driving innovation
- Manage, coach, develop and guide the team activities on technical challenges and setting the technical direction of the project
- Ensure deployment and strengthen of knowledge & capabilities across the team
What will make you successful
- Engineering background in mechanical, micro technical, or relevant field
- In-depth experience in R&D product development and industrialization, preferably in coffee machines, mass-produced consumer goods or household appliances
- Extensive expertise in quality by design, design for manufacturing and ideally very high volumes FMCG products
- Extensive technical expertise to provide guidance in technical projects & technological advancements
- Strong project management competencies in a competitive, complex and international environment
- First experience in team management or demonstrated leadership
- Ability in coaching and developing a team and optimize processes to improve efficiency
- Excellent communication skills, including confidence and conviction in presenting to steering committees
- Ability to connect and collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and management
- Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
