We are currently looking for one of our client, an experienced Business Developper with mandatory exposure to Timber.
Our client is an international trading company.
Description
Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze domestic and international timber markets to identify trends, supply-demand dynamics, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes that may impact trading activities.Contract Negotiation: Negotiate sales agreements with clients, and intermediaries.Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, distributors, and end-users. Collaborate to ensure consistent supply and demand fulfillment.Risk Management: Identify potential risks such as market volatility, transportation challenges, and regulatory compliance issues. Develop strategies to minimize risks and protect the company's interests.Financial Analysis: Analyze pricing structures, production costs, and market trends to determine optimal pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive.Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior traders and support staff, sharing industry knowledge and best practices to enhance the team's performance.Reporting: Generate regular reports on trading activities, market trends, and financial performance.Business Development: Identify potential business opportunities and partnerships within the timber industry. Explore new markets, products, and channels for growthBe the face of the company Wood Products in the region. The incumbent must strategically manage the responsibilities and dynamic environment, constantly keeping in touch with the important players to keep herself abreast of the latest in the sector.Profile
- Master's degree in Management. Specialization in Forestry or Agri Commodities preferred
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in timber trading, with a proven track record of successful negotiations and trading activities.
- In-depth understanding of timber species, grading standards, and industry-specific terminology
- Language proficiency: English and French to communicate with colleagues in different offices. Dutch, German or other European language will help communication with our clients in the continent
