As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Hardware Product Owner for a temporary assignment until 31.12.2030, with high probability of extension.
As an Agile Team Product Owner (PO) for Instrument Development, the successful candidate will bridge the gap between visionary product strategy and technical execution. The role is responsible for defining "the what and the why" for physical medical devices. The specialist will work in a cross-functional team (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Firmware, Verification & Validation) to deliver life-changing hardware that meets the highest standards of safety, usability, and regulatory compliance.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Product Manager, define the vision for the component, system, or product and ensure the agile team understands it.
- Translate high-level needs into actionable User Stories (Definition of the "what").
- Manage and prioritize the Team/Product Backlog; estimation of User Stories with the agile team.
- Oversee scoping and prioritization during all stages of product creation and ensure the scope stays aligned with the Definition of Done (DoD).
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical) or a related technical field.
- Proven track record as a Product Owner or Project Lead in a hardware-centric environment, ideally within the MedTech or Healthcare industry.
- Strong ability to define and estimate complex work packages; familiarity with the constraints of physical product development (tooling, BOM, lead times).
- Good negotiation skills to protect the team's focus.
- Exceptional ability to bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks (SAFe/Scrum/Kanban) in regulated hardware environments.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, SAP, and Google tools.
- Fluency in English and German (written and spoken) is required.
Nice-to-Haves
- Specific experience in the MedTech or Healthcare industry.
- IT/Tool knowledge: MCAD.
