About the Role

Our client, a growing international organization, is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join their expanding IT infrastructure team. This is a temporary mission until December 2026, offering an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to cloud transformation initiatives.

You will be responsible for the design, maintenance, performance tuning, and security of Oracle databases across multiple Unix and Linux platforms, while also supporting the migration to Oracle Cloud (OCI) and other cloud providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain databases for development, testing, training, and production environments on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning for optimal database performance.
• Install, configure, and evaluate new Oracle RDBMS versions and related tools.
• Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies.
• Manage database changes and program migrations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Enforce database security policies and ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Perform database reorganizations and ensure maximum uptime.
• Establish and maintain best practices for integrity, performance, and security in application design and code.
• Support database migrations to Oracle Cloud (OCI) or other cloud environments.
• Provide technical expertise to development teams and assist in impact analysis for database modifications.
• Troubleshoot database and application issues and ensure proper documentation for audits.
• Declare and manage infrastructure components in Terraform for Oracle OCI, AWS, Azure, and private clouds.
• Leverage automation tools and modern technologies to improve system operations and processes.
• Manage the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of database systems supporting enterprise services.

Profile

Qualification

• 5+ years of solid experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI).
• Proven experience operating Oracle databases on Unix/Linux systems.
• Proficiency in shell scripting.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, Git).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience migrating databases from on-premises to cloud environments.
• Fluent English is required; Italian is a strong advantage.
• Must be eligible to work in Switzerland (EU/Swiss citizenship or valid permit).

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience as an MSSQL or PostgreSQL DBA.
• Knowledge of Exadata, RAC, or Oracle APEX.
• Software development or DevOps experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ansible.
