As Contract Manager at the Technology Transfer Office, you are in charge of negotiating and drafting research contracts with industrial partners. The Contract Manager operates within the framework of EPFL's rules and policies regarding the exploitation of research results, aiming for balanced interests in the partnerships with companies.
- Analyze industrial collaboration agreements and relating scientific proposals, including from a scientific and financial standpoint, taking into account the nature of the collaboration (research, service, etc.).
- Negotiate, draft and/or amend collaboration contracts with industrial partners, in accordance with EPFL's rules and policies on the exploitation of research results, the rules of funding organizations in the case of grants and relying, where appropriate, on existing contracts, templates or framework agreements.
- Determine EPFL's existing know-how and intellectual property relevant to each collaborative project.
- Identify potential risks in contracts and propose necessary mitigation measures.
- Provide advice, assistance and training to researchers in the preparation and negotiation of industrial research contracts, including financial and intellectual property matters.
- Collaborate with administrative departments in the execution and registration processes of contracts, with technology transfer managers, export control officer and legal counsels for research.
- Master degree in Engineering or Science, or deemed equivalent.
- Proven experience in industry or in the exploitation of scientific research results.
- Strong interest in contractual aspects, in scientific research, and contacts with companies.
- Experience in technology transfer, intellectual property management and/or drafting research contracts is a clear advantage.
- Very good communication, negotiation and writing skills in English and French.
- Very good organizational skills and strong ability to manage and accomplish tasks in parallel with multiple interactions and short deadlines.
