Position Overview:
The Finance and Human Resources Assistant will oversee and coordinate all financial, accounting and HR related activities within the institution. This role ensures the efficient management of, financial planning, budgeting, payroll and related administration processes in alignment with institutional policies and statutory requirements.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and people-oriented professional with 2–5 years of relevant experience — preferably within a tertiary education or similar institutional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting
- Manage student and faculty invoicing process
- Prepare, monitor, and report on annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, procurement, and expense management.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and compliance with Swiss accounting standards.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure statutory remittances are accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with auditors and external partners on financial and other related administration.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by senior management.
- Manage different insurance policies and claims of the organization.
Human Resources Management
- Oversee and assist with the full HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with institutional policies and labour laws.
- Administer payroll, benefits, leave, and performance appraisal systems.
- Support management in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Advise staff and management on HR best practices, employee relations, and compliance matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of combined HR and finance management experience, preferably in a tertiary education or similar institutional setting.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIPD, or SHRM) is an added advantage.
- Proven experience with new technology in financial systems, payroll management, and HR information systems.
- Working knowledge of labour laws, tax regulations, and institutional compliance requirements.
Key Competencies:
- English and French speaker essential.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proficiency in Odoo, Xero, Excel, Power BI and related accounting software
Remuneration:
CHF 70K - CHF80K, 80-100%
