The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies is recruiting an:
Introduction of the Program :
The MIDS programme, jointly organized by the University of Geneva Faculty of Law and the Geneva Graduate Institute, is a leading postgraduate course in international dispute settlement. Taught in English and attracting a select group of students from over 90 countries, the programme covers international arbitration, WTO dispute settlement, mediation, and advocacy, and is guided by renowned global experts. MIDS graduates are highly sought after by law firms, international organizations, and government agencies worldwide.
The role :
The main mission is to consolidate the existing programme and to expand the activities of MIDS in new fields. The Executive Director is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the programme, the management of an administrative team and outreach activities. The Executive Director represents MIDS in external events and conferences and manages relations with stakeholders and promotes MIDS programme to future students.
Key responsibilities :
- Lead the development and implementation of the education strategy and curriculum to ensure excellence and innovation in international dispute resolution;
- Monitoring the activities and supervising the MIDS team;
- Manage the MIDS’ annual budget, accounts and management report, as well as all other relevant accounting and administrative documents relating to the MIDS’ activities;
- Serve as a key liaison between the MIDS, its partner institutions, and external stakeholders, including visiting professors, international organizations, law firms, and alumni networks;
- Play an active role in representing and promoting the MIDS by organising public activities and other initiatives;
- Develop and maintain strategic collaborations and partnerships, and negotiate the corresponding cooperation agreements.
To be successful in this role, you should have :
- Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent. A degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Psychology, social science, public administration or other related field is an asset;
- At least 5 years of experience, ideally in education with increasing responsibilities in educational programme management. Experience in business development is an asset;
- Digital fluency with a solid experience leading and managing education and digital learning tools;
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and French (native or minimum C1 level)
- Mastery of project cycle management, team management, and budget management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
