Location: Geneva
Salary: CHF 69,121 per annum.
Contract type: Permanent, Ongoing
Contract hours: Full Time - 37.5 Hours Per Week
Additional Benefits: 20 days annual leave, 50% employer contribution to health insurance and accident insurance, and to a pension fund.

Job Summary: The successful applicant will be engaged as a locally engaged staff member by the Australian Consulate-General, Geneva.Please be advised that the Australian Consulate-General, Geneva does not assist with relocation. Any costs associated with taking up the position would be the responsibility of the successful candidate. This role is office based.

About The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
The role of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is to advance the interests of Australia and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s prosperity, delivering an effective and high-quality overseas aid program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas. The department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of Australia’s pursuit of global, regional and bilateral interests.
About the position
Under general direction, this position is responsible for the efficient and effective provision of maintenance of Australian-based (A-based) staff residential properties, minor maintenance works at the Chancery and providing back-up support to the mission’s drivers.
Key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

Undertake general maintenance work at the Chancery and A-based staff accommodation.

Undertake regular testing and tagging of electrical equipment in the Chancery and A-based staff accommodation.

Provide logistical and event support for official visits and functions.

Undertake procurement of furniture and equipment for the Chancery and residences.

Perform driving duties for mission staff as required.
Required Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge/Skills
-
Demonstrated ability to carry out general maintenance works (e.g. trades certificate).

Ability to prioritise workloads, troubleshoot, resolve issues and work effectively under pressure.
-
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as an effective member of a team and provide high quality services to a wide range of stakeholders.
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and sound judgement.
-
Valid Swiss or other recognised current driving licence with a clean driving record is essential.

Sound knowledge of the road network and an ability to use navigation technology.

Availability to work outside regular office hours at short notice.

Fluency in English and French.

Proficient computer and IT skills.
