An essential role to ensure a safe, caring and positive environment for our students at the heart of our campus infrastructure during lunchtime.

Available positions:
Qualified Lunchtime Supervisors (2 positions):
- 5 days per week
Experienced Lunchtime Supervisors (3 positions):
- 2x 5 days per week
- 1x 2 days per week

Roles and responsibilities
Lunchtime Supervision
- Ensure that mealtimes take place in an organised, safe and structured manner, whether students are eating in the cafeteria or in classrooms, according to age and school routines
- Encourage students to participate in preparation, serving and clearing up as appropriate to their age and the school's expectations
- Support younger children by helping them with meals, routines and expectations during lunchtime
- Supervise older students in the lunch queue, during the meal, and while clearing plates and leftovers
- Supervise students during recess, outdoors or indoors depending on weather conditions
Safe and organised supervision
- Ensure that students are supervised in a safe, calm, organised and caring manner
- Respond to students' needs and concerns respectfully and appropriately
- Manage transitions so that movement between spaces is calm, organised and safe
Relationships with students
- Take an active interest in the students they supervise, building positive relationships and getting to know their individual needs over time
- Adapt their approach where needed, in line with guidance from class teachers, Assistant Principals or other members of the school team
Collaboration and communication
- Work in close collaboration with class teachers, Assistant Principals and other members of the school team
- Share relevant observations or concerns with class teachers and Assistant Principals, so that information flows both ways
Professional expectations
- Act as a positive role model for students and colleagues
- Use positive behaviour guidance
- Participate in training as required
- Uphold the values of the school at all times, including inclusion, equity, respect and care for all members of the community
Safety and emergency response
- Participate in first aid training as required
- Remain calm in an emergency, following instructions and taking appropriate initiative when needed
Depending on qualifications, experience and availability, you may occasionally be asked to:
- Replace class assistants in the Early Years when necessary
- Accompany school excursions when necessary
Who we are looking for
Specific requirements
Qualified Lunchtime Supervisors
- Mandatory: A formal Early Years qualification is strictly required. In accordance with Canton of Vaud regulations for the supervision of students from 3 years of age:
- Federal VET Diploma for childcare assistants (ASE), SEFRI equivalence, or recognized early childhood diploma
- Socio-pedagogical degree with at least 2 years of educational experience
Experienced Lunchtime Supervisors
- No formal qualifications required; however, prior experience working with primary school children is essential.
Skills and experience
- Experience working with children aged 3 to 11
- Fluency in either English or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language
Personal Attributes
- Confidence in working with children and responding appropriately to their concerns
- Sensitivity to diversity and the needs of an international school community
- The ability to take initiative and work collaboratively
- Flexibility and openness to ideas and suggestions
- A courteous, friendly and professional manner
- The ability to work and communicate well within a large international team
