Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
An experienced professional in the field of Windows Infrastructure is sought for the further development and stable operation of a modern IT landscape. The position combines engineering, automation, and operations and offers diverse tasks around Microsoft technologies, cloud, virtualisation, and security.
You will take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of the systems and actively participate in company-wide infrastructure projects. Standardisation, automation, security, and sustainable technical solutions are the focus.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and further develop modern Windows and Microsoft platforms
Ensure stable operation including monitoring, incident and problem management, patching, as well as performance and availability management
Drive automation, standardisation, and security hardening using PowerShell and infrastructure-as-code
Analyse complex faults, conduct root cause analyses, and implement sustainable improvements
Work as a technical specialist or lead in infrastructure and IT projects
Create and maintain architecture and operational documentation, standards, and runbooks, as well as take on on-call duties after training
Qualifications:
Completed IT education EFZ/HF/FH or several years of comparable professional experience as a Windows System Engineer
Very good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server/Clients, Active Directory/Entra ID, and Exchange
Experience with virtualisation, ideally VMware vSphere, ESXi, or vCenter
Good knowledge of networking, security, backup/restore, and storage as well as monitoring and logging
Very good experience with PowerShell and automation; knowledge of Git, Ansible, and CI/CD-related methods is an advantage
Structured and independent working style, high service orientation, good communication, and very good German
