In this role, you directly contribute to offering a warm, smooth and personalised experience to a local and international clientele. You work in a human-scale environment where attention to detail, quality of service and authenticity are essential.
Job Description
As Head Waiter, you ensure the setup, service and clearing of breakfast, afternoon tea and aperitifs according to the needs of the operation. You welcome each guest with professionalism and naturalness, adapt your level of attention to their expectations and anticipate their needs without ever being intrusive. You present products and drinks accurately and provide attentive, smooth and personalised service.
You take orders, serve hot and cold drinks, ensure the buffet is replenished and keep tables and guest areas immaculate throughout the service. You are also responsible for monitoring various areas such as the coffee machine, honesty bars, lounge, salon and kiosk, paying particular attention to presentation, product rotation and restocking. You rigorously apply information relating to allergies and dietary requirements and immediately alert your management in case of doubt or special situations.
You develop an excellent knowledge of the offer in order to advise guests accurately and naturally. You know the drinks offered, local products and the house’s particularities and are able to present wines and other premium products professionally. You also know how to identify opportunities to suggest a complementary experience or product, always subtly and without hard selling. At the end of services, you ensure a clear handover, both oral and written, regarding special guest requests, allergies, any shortages, incidents or outstanding points.
Profile Sought
You have proven experience in hotel service, fine dining or within a high-end establishment. You master the fundamentals of service, setup and the service of hot and cold drinks. Comfortable in a demanding environment, you know how to simultaneously manage guest requests, restocking, maintenance of areas and various service-related tasks.
Your interpersonal skills and customer orientation allow you to offer a personalised and attentive experience. You are autonomous, versatile, organised and rigorous, able to remain calm and precise during busy periods. You enjoy teamwork and naturally collaborate with the kitchen, concierge, housekeeping and management to ensure a coherent experience for every guest.
You are perfectly fluent in French and English and have a real commercial sense, enabling you to advise with elegance and professionalism. Good knowledge of Swiss wines, Valais products and the local offer is an asset, as is knowledge of the Val d'Hérens and its main attractions. Discreet and respectful of confidentiality, you always adopt a presentation and attitude worthy of a high-end establishment.

We offer you a 60% position within a human-scale hotel house, located in an exceptional setting in the heart of Évolène. You will work in an environment where quality of service, simplicity, authenticity and attention to each guest are at the centre of the experience.
The position offers varied hours according to operational needs, with possible shifts in the morning, daytime or evening, as well as weekends and public holidays.
