Lead Cloud Engineer (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF130,000 - 155,000Role:
A powerful cloud platform requires stable operation and a leadership figure who keeps an overview even in demanding situations. In this role, you take operational responsibility for a business-critical cloud infrastructure and lead a team in the area of cloud operations and service desk. You combine technical expertise with clear leadership and continuously develop operations, processes, and services.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the daily operation of a cloud platform and a multi-hypervisor environment with VMware
Ensuring availability, performance, capacity, and stability of the production environment
Operational responsibility for network, storage, and data centre infrastructure
Further development of monitoring, alerting, logging as well as backup and disaster recovery concepts
Ensuring professional incident response and sustainable fault resolution
Leading and developing a team of four to six employees in cloud operations and service desk
Responsibility for service quality, ticket processes, triage, and compliance with agreed service levels
Planning on-call duties, shifts, and sustainable service coverage
Automating recurring operational tasks through infrastructure as code and scripting
Further development of operational processes and collaboration with DevOps, security, and product teams
Ensuring compliance and audit readiness, including in the context of ISO 27001 and ISAE
Responsibility for operational budgets, suppliers, licences, and procurement together with technical management
Actively supporting an ongoing platform transition and ensuring stable customer operations during the change
Qualifications:
Several years of professional leadership experience in IT operations, ideally in cloud, hosting, or service provider environments
Solid practical experience in operating VMware production environments
Broad technical know-how in network, storage, and data centre infrastructures
Experience in incident management and building stable operational processes
Ability to lead teams through technical and organisational changes
Hands-on mentality as well as a structured and solution-oriented working style
Confident demeanour even in critical situations and the ability to communicate technical problems clearly
Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship or valid Swiss work permit
