System Engineer (Virtualisation, Storage & Backup) (m/f/d)

Role:
You want to not only operate complex IT platforms but also take them to the next technical level? In this position, you design powerful infrastructure architectures, optimise virtualised system landscapes, and ensure that business-critical data remains reliably available at all times. We are looking for an experienced infrastructure professional with technical foresight and enthusiasm for demanding engineering tasks.
Responsibilities:
Design, implementation and further development of virtualised server and data centre infrastructures
Engineering and administration of platforms based on VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or comparable technologies
Planning and optimisation of storage architectures with SAN, NAS and software-defined storage solutions
Analysis and improvement of system performance, storage utilisation and infrastructure availability
Development and enhancement of automated provisioning and configuration processes
Design of highly available system landscapes with cluster technologies and redundant architectures
Integration of backup, restore and replication solutions into existing infrastructure platforms
Execution of technical migrations, platform upgrades and capacity planning
Analysis of complex faults and sustainable optimisation of system stability
Participation in infrastructure transformations, standardisation projects and the introduction of new technologies
Qualifications:
Solid professional experience in system engineering or operation of complex IT infrastructures
Good knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V or Proxmox VE
Experience with storage systems, SAN/NAS architectures and data management
Understanding of high availability, cluster concepts and redundant infrastructure designs
Knowledge of backup technologies and recovery of business-critical systems
Experience with PowerShell, Python or other automation approaches is an advantage
Analytical thinking and structured approach to technical challenges
High quality standards and interest in modern infrastructure architectures
