Your mission in the city of Bern
The Department of Public Security is in close and constant contact with the population and ensures safety, peaceful coexistence, and the legality of activities that make up city life. Its Police Inspection Service is responsible for carrying out municipal police tasks as well as tasks delegated by the Canton, such as commercial police.You examine applications, issue permits, conduct inspections, and intervene when necessary. You independently handle demanding cases and draft opinions, reports, and complaints. You work within a team of specialists in various fields (hospitality, taxis, prostitution, etc.).
- Are you able to assert yourself with confidence and determination while remaining calm and seeking solutions, even in challenging situations?
- Do you willingly engage with different interlocutors, including in difficult contexts, to conduct interviews and clarify situations?
- Are you versatile and flexible, and available for occasional commitments outside regular office hours?
- Are you prepared to handle a sometimes heavy workload according to service needs and willingly carry out regular field interventions?

The profile we dream of
- Federal VET Diploma with specific advanced training for the role; police training or experience in security is an advantage
- Solid professional experience and interest in the field of public security
- Good reputation, with no criminal record or debt enforcement register entries
- Fluency in French or German and good knowledge of the other language
- Good command of IT tools and databases
- Ease in drafting reports, analyses, and handling complaints
