IT Operations Engineer (m/f/d)
Financial planning, tax policy and human resources – our Rocken partner is responsible for central cross-sectional tasks in public administration. You keep critical IT services running, think analytically in case of disruptions and consistently develop existing platforms further. We are looking for a technically strong personality who understands complex system landscapes, takes responsibility and brings IT operations to the next level with modern methods.
Responsibilities:
Technical responsibility for the stable operation of business-critical applications, platforms and IT services
Analysis and sustainable resolution of complex disruptions including root cause analyses
Monitoring availability, performance, capacity and security-relevant events
Optimisation of existing operational processes through automation, scripting and standardised workflows
Support and further development of Linux- and Unix-based system landscapes
Support with releases, deployments, updates and technical changes
Close collaboration with service owners, software teams and external specialists
Technical management and support of 2nd-level and 3rd-level activities
Building modern monitoring and observability solutions
Participation in architectural decisions and the further development of IT infrastructure
Creation of technical concepts, operational documentation and runbooks
Participation in cross-departmental IT projects and transformation initiatives
Willingness for planned maintenance windows and defined on-call or standby duties
Qualifications:
Higher education in computer science or comparable technical qualification
Several years of professional experience in IT operations, as a system engineer, platform engineer, application engineer or comparable role
Solid practical experience with Linux or Unix systems
Experience with complex application and infrastructure environments
Strong understanding of IT service management, availability, security and lifecycle management
Analytical skills for technical disruptions and complex error patterns
Independent and structured working style with high quality standards
Enjoyment of automation, digitalisation and continuous optimisation
