Senior Modern Workplace Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
You don’t just want to operate IT infrastructures but actively shape their future? In this role, you take responsibility for a versatile infrastructure landscape and simultaneously lead a team of system engineers. You are a technical contact person, leader, and hands-on engineer all at once.
Responsibilities:
You ensure the reliable operation of the IT infrastructure across multiple locations.
You are responsible for server, network, storage, backup, and cloud environments and continuously develop them further.
You operate and optimise Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Teams, and SharePoint.
You further develop modern digital workplace and client management solutions.
You are responsible for security topics within the infrastructure and ensure secure and sustainable technical solutions.
You lead a team of four system engineers both professionally and personally and support the employees in their development.
You coordinate external service providers and ensure efficient collaboration with technology partners.
You take on the role of escalation point in complex technical disruptions and develop sustainable solutions.
You plan and implement infrastructure, modernisation, and transformation projects.
You ensure that operational processes and technical documentation remain current and comprehensible.
You support the IT manager in architectural decisions, technology evaluations, and investment planning.
Qualifications:
You have completed training in computer science or a comparable technical qualification.
You bring at least ten years of experience as a system engineer or in a comparable infrastructure role.
Ideally, you have already led employees or coordinated external service providers and technical partners.
You have sound knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Windows Server, and modern client management solutions.
You are very familiar with networks, virtualisation, storage, backup, and IT security.
You have experience operating complex IT infrastructures and understand their technical and organisational contexts.
You think entrepreneurially and understand IT as a service for the entire company.
You work analytically, structured, and find pragmatic solutions even for complex problems.
You are a leadership personality who takes responsibility and at the same time enjoys working technically hands-on.
You communicate confidently in German and have good English skills in spoken and written form.
