Located between lake and mountains, Montreux is the 3rd most populous municipality in the Canton of Vaud. To better meet current urban planning challenges, the Municipality has launched a thorough reorganisation of its urban planning department. Objective: a strengthened public service, a coherent, sustainable and human-scale territorial vision.

To this end, the Municipality of Montreux is advertising a position for:

Within the Construction Police section, you will join a motivated team invested in the transformation of the service. You will ensure the rigorous processing of building permit files, while guiding and advising applicants. You will actively contribute to the evolution of internal processes, the deployment of new practices and the updating of the municipal regulatory framework, notably within the framework of the development of the PACom.

Main tasks:

• Ensure the processing of construction police files in compliance with laws and regulations
• Produce analysis reports on files
• Coordinate the handling of construction police matters with the various municipal administration services
• Write periodic reports on the progress of construction police files to your hierarchy and the Municipality
• Apply fire protection regulations – AEAI within the scope of the files processed

Desired profile:

• Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as a draughtsperson specialising in architecture, geomatician, HES architect or equivalent training
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience
• Training in fire protection regulations – AEAI, an asset
• Professional experience in the field of construction police and in a municipal administration preferred
• Good knowledge of standards applicable to construction police, land use planning instruments and policies, required procedures and legal aspects
• Knowledge of the municipal territory, an asset
• Organisational skills and rigour
• Communication skills and initiative
• High discretion and sense of responsibility
• Interpersonal skills and adaptability
• Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD), an asset
• Proficiency in MS Office tools
