Systems Engineer Datacentre & Cloud 80-100 % (m/f/d)
Our ROCKEN partner is: a professional and personal IT service provider operating high-performance systems in its own secure datacentres in Switzerland. The company offers everything from a single source, from server housing and cloud storage to backup and disaster recovery solutions as well as virtual workspaces and team collaboration. The team is experienced, flexible, and relies on modern technology to implement customised IT solutions for SMEs.
Responsibilities:
Operation and expansion of the datacentre infrastructure with a focus on virtualisation, storage, data backup, and network technology.
Planning and implementation of diverse customer projects, including setting up new IT environments, cloud migrations, and adjustments to network and firewall systems.
Handling technical enquiries and faults across all support levels (1st to 3rd level), including fault analysis and direct communication with customers.
Carrying out customer deployments in Switzerland and Liechtenstein as well as active participation in the monthly on-call service with additional remuneration.
Development of automated operational processes and co-design of new IT services in collaboration with software development, for example in the area of local AI solutions.
Qualifications:
Several years of practical experience as a system engineer or in a comparable role in IT infrastructure.
Very good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 as well as experience with VMware vSphere and/or Proxmox.
Solid knowledge of network technologies, especially VLAN, routing, and switching; experience with firewalls is an advantage.
Analytical thinking, systematic troubleshooting, and the ability to explain technical matters clearly and customer-oriented.
Fluent in German and Swiss German, driving licence category B, and willingness to undertake on-site assignments; knowledge of Fortinet, Linux, Veeam, Ceph, Citrix, or local AI technologies is a plus.
Workplace and residence: The position is not remote and involves regular deployments in the datacentre and on-site at customers. A residence in Switzerland is required, willingness to relocate to Switzerland or to work as a cross-border commuter.
