Role:
In this role, you take on the technical leadership of directory services and EntraID in a large, complex IT environment that demands high availability, security, and scalability. You are responsible for high-quality, flexible, and scalable services in the field of Identity & Access Management and ensure that these best support the requirements of modern research and teaching environments. You continuously design, implement, and optimise directory and identity solutions and ensure their seamless integration into existing application landscapes. You play a significant role in the further development of central systems such as operational information systems, web content management, and other applications that are crucial for the smooth operation of the organisation. Through your expertise, you actively shape strategic decisions in the area of directory services and EntraID and contribute to establishing innovative, future-proof IT solutions.
Responsibilities:
- As the technical lead for directory services and EntraID, you take technical responsibility for the setup, operation, and further development of the Microsoft-based IAM landscape OnPrem and in the multi-cloud.
- In this role, you design and operate scalable IAM platforms based on Active Directory, ADFS, EntraID, Azure, and M365 including system administration, automation, and project implementation.
- As the technical lead, you ensure secure, stable operation of AD OnPrem, EntraID, ADFS, as well as associated services such as SCOM, DFS, WSUS, and Entra Connect.
- You support colleagues with your expertise in the area of Public Key Infrastructure and Secrets Management, thereby strengthening the overall security architecture.
- In this role, you work closely with departments, project teams, and external partners and drive the strategic development of the IAM architecture forward.
- You actively promote knowledge transfer within the team, represent colleagues in related areas such as Windows and messaging services, and continuously develop your professional skills.
Qualifications:
- Completed education in computer science (FH Bachelor, FH/HS Master) or a comparable field.
- Several years of solid practical experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure and M365 (Entra ID), ADFS, SCOM, WSUS as well as ideally knowledge of One Identity Active Roles, Cygna, Microsoft PKI, MS-SQL, and OpenLDAP.
- Proven experience in project environments, preferably in leading or participating in IAM, AD, and EntraID migration projects.
- Deep understanding of operational IT security and data protection in complex, larger organisations.
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills with which you grasp complex issues and translate them into viable technical solutions.
- Very good communication skills in German and English, high independence, as well as pronounced team orientation and trustworthiness in dealing with various stakeholders.
