Freight Trader - Soft Commodity House

You will be responsible for developing and managing freight trading activities across international energy markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing freight exposure, identifying market opportunities and building strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, brokers and trading counterparties.

For our client, a soft commodity trading firm, we are currently recruiting a Freight Trader.

Description

• Manage freight trading operations and optimise trading strategies.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Negotiate and execute freight contracts with third parties.
• Monitor the performance of freight operations and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align trading activities with organisational goals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on trading performance and market insights.
• Stay updated on market developments and adjust strategies accordingly.

Profile

A successful Trader - Freight should have:

• Educational qualifications in a relevant field such as business, economics or logistics.
• Proficiency in English, with additional language skills being an asset.
• Experience in freight trading or related activities within the retail sector.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
