As a Technician for indoor signalling systems, you independently locate and rectify faults in our complex systems such as signal boxes and level crossings. You are the one who quickly gets our customers back on track! You take turns on the on-call duty weekly – and of course, there is fair compensation for this. You are also responsible for the maintenance, construction, and operation of signal box and control technology systems. Together with a well-coordinated team, you not only check systems but also ensure the smooth operation of Switzerland’s largest transport company. We are looking for support at these locations in German-speaking Switzerland: Lucerne and Sargans. Attractive working conditions are important to us, even with irregular working hours. You also receive time allowances. This means you have more free time than others without night and weekend shifts. This is what you can achieve.

• You independently carry out construction and maintenance work on indoor signal box systems and partially on outdoor systems.
• You actively support ensuring the reliability, availability, and safety of railway infrastructure economically.
• During on-call duty, you rectify faults in complex systems to ensure their availability.
• Depending on the project, you occasionally work at night and rarely on weekends.

This is what you bring with you.

• You are a technically inclined person with an independent and flexible working style.
• Unrestricted hearing and vision are required to recognise important acoustic and visual signals during operations on the track.
• You have completed a basic electrical engineering apprenticeship EFZ (automation technician, electrician, or comparable professions). Ideally, you live near the respective branch, as the willingness to perform weekly on-call duty is a prerequisite for this position.
• Willingness to complete the 2-year part-time internal training to become a Technician for indoor signalling systems. SBB fully covers the time and costs for this.
• A valid category B driving licence and very good German language skills in spoken and written form at least at B2 level are required.
