For an internationally active IT company, we are looking for an experienced Backup Engineer who will take responsibility for a global backup infrastructure, further develop technical standards, and actively shape modern data protection solutions.
Responsibilities:
You design, operate, and optimise a global enterprise backup infrastructure and ensure reliable data backup operations.
You ensure the security, performance, and high availability of business-critical backup systems.
You continuously develop backup architectures, standards, and policies and optimise existing processes.
You support and integrate storage and server virtualisation environments within the framework of modern data protection concepts.
You analyse technical challenges and develop sustainable solutions for stable backup operations.
You create technical documentation and contribute your expertise to cross-departmental IT projects.
Qualifications:
Completed training or degree in computer science or a comparable field
Several years of solid experience in backup engineering and operation of complex data protection environments
Very good knowledge of enterprise backup technologies, backup architectures, and data protection concepts
Experience with Commvault is a great plus
Solid know-how in storage systems and server virtualisation
Experience with agile working methods as well as project management and collaboration tools
Independent, structured, and responsible working style with team spirit, initiative, and willingness to travel occasionally
