Job Description

Responsibilities
You ensure the proper functioning and availability of the IT hosting centres (datacentres) of the Vaud Cantonal Administration (ACV):
- Plan regular maintenance of vital equipment (power supply, ventilation, cooling, anomaly detection)
- Coordinate supplier interventions and ensure regular maintenance of the datacentres
- Regularly check and test the proper functioning of datacentre infrastructures
- Monitor and analyse performance, publish reports and statistics on defined indicators
You manage the daily operational activities of the datacentres:
- Manage and keep technical infrastructures up to date (racks, cabling, equipment)
- Control and log access to the datacentres
- Install, test and validate equipment and connections
- Handle incidents according to their priority within agreed deadlines
- Monitor datacentre surveillance tools
- Ensure updates of management tools, documentation and inventories
You contribute to the implementation of new solutions within the datacentres:
- Provide infrastructure experts with necessary support during implementation and testing of new solutions
- Contribute to the improvement of the DGNSI Management System
You participate in the on-call service:
- Proactively supervise the operation of datacentres outside office hours
- Resolve serious incidents and escalate complex incidents promptly
Grant access to persons who must intervene urgently outside office hours

Qualifications
Profile sought:
Education
- Diploma as a technical ES technician in a technical, IT or electrical profession (required)
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or building technology (desired)
- Certification in operational datacentre management and/or ITIL Foundation certification (required)
Professional experience
- 5 years of experience in operating datacentre-type environments
- 3 years of experience in fire safety, flood safety and crisis management
Technical knowledge
- Computer hardware (network equipment, servers, storage)
- Building technology (air conditioning, ventilation, electricity, monitoring and alarm)
- Datacentre infrastructure (racks, cabling)
- Technical English level B1 (required) - German level B1 (desired)
- Proficiency in standard ACV office tools (MS Office suite, messaging, ITSM) (desired)
Category B driving licence required.
Team spirit, adaptability, sense of responsibility, good organisation and strong stress management are your assets.
Your attention to detail and pursuit of perfection will also be highly appreciated.
Specific on-call duties:
- Work possible outside standard hours (night, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays)
- Participation in night and public holiday on-call service
- Residence in Switzerland required
- Police accreditation required
