The ETH Library ( www.library.ethz.ch ), the Swiss competence centre for technical and scientific information, is seeking a Team Leader Special Libraries Centre (Green Library and GESS Library) & Teaching Librarian (m/f/d) for the special libraries with immediate effect or by arrangement.

Job Description

• Actively shape the further development of our special libraries in the centre. In this versatile leadership role, you combine contemporary personnel management with forward-looking digital skills. The focus is on the further development of services for teaching and research.
• For the special libraries of the ETH Library in the centre, we are looking for a committed, visionary and communicative personality. In this versatile role, you combine classic leadership tasks with innovative information delivery. The digital transformation of the ETH Library is in full swing. Therefore, a strong affinity for topics such as AI applications or LMS is required.
• In the field of information literacy instruction, you work closely with related teams in designing modern course offerings and competently convey these to our users (students & researchers).
• Furthermore, close cooperation and network maintenance with the Department of Environmental Systems Science is a central part of your work. An affinity for this subject area is advantageous.
• Participation in the operational activities of the libraries is a matter of course for you and enriches your daily work.
• Your long-term perspective: We offer you the opportunity to develop professionally, network strategically and, as part of a regulated retirement succession, to take on tasks in the area of Liaison Services.

Profile

• Education & Leadership: You have a completed university degree. Additional library training or a degree in information science is an advantage. Leadership experience is required.
• Technology & AI Affinity: You have a strong interest in digital trends, especially in the possibilities and application of AI in information retrieval and academic writing.
• Instructional Competence: You have convincing communication skills and a strong presence. Affinity for didactics and adult education or willingness to further train in this area.
• Languages: You have very good German and English skills.
• Personality: You are open to change and appreciate working in a dynamic, academic environment.
