Senior Platform Engineer Linux & Kubernetes (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
You take technical responsibility for a business-critical platform landscape with RHEL/SLES and Kubernetes on SUSE Rancher/RKE2 and shape its architecture and long-term development.
For 7x24 environments, you design highly available, scalable, and secure solutions. You technically manage complex updates, upgrades, migrations, and release changes from planning to implementation.
You consistently develop automation with Ansible/AWX; this includes playbooks, roles, collections as well as the overarching infrastructure-as-code strategy.
Around Forgejo, you establish and optimise CI/CD pipelines and DevOps standards. At the same time, you evaluate new technologies and contribute to the platform roadmap.
In challenging disruptions and major incidents, you bring your expertise at the 3rd level, support other engineering and development teams, and participate in the 7x24 on-call service. OS hardening, vulnerability management, certificates, secrets, and privileged accounts also fall within your area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
Several years of solid practical experience in Linux, DevOps, platform engineering or Kubernetes environments as well as the ability to independently make technical architecture decisions.
Very good knowledge of RHEL/SLES and Kubernetes; experience with SUSE Rancher/RKE2 is particularly relevant.
In-depth experience with Ansible, AWX, infrastructure as code and CI/CD as well as with standardisation and automation of complex infrastructure environments.
Confident understanding of Linux/platform security, networking, DNS, load balancing and firewalls as well as experience with highly available, business-critical platforms.
German written and spoken fluently (C2), English at least B2; French B1 is an advantage. Knowledge of ITIL and certifications related to Kubernetes, Linux, cloud or open source are also advantageous.
