Windows System Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
An experienced IT professional is sought for a larger company in the trading sector to manage, further develop and ensure the stable operation of Windows-based systems. The focus is on engineering tasks, automating recurring processes, and continuously improving security and availability.
Responsibilities:
Design, implementation, operation and further development of Windows-based system environments
Ensuring stable operation including monitoring, incident and problem management, as well as patch and release management
Automation and standardisation of system processes and implementation of security measures
Analysis of complex faults, determination of causes and implementation of sustainable improvements
Participation in IT projects as well as technical support for internal teams and application managers
Maintenance of technical documentation and runbooks as well as taking on on-call duties and planned maintenance tasks
Qualifications:
Completed IT training at EFZ, HF or FH level or several years of comparable practical experience
Very good knowledge of Windows Server, Windows clients, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory or Entra ID and Exchange
Experience with virtualisation, ideally VMware, as well as with network and security basics
Knowledge of backup and restore, storage as well as monitoring and logging
Good scripting skills with PowerShell; experience with Git and Ansible is an advantage
Structured, independent and service-oriented working style, very good German skills and willingness to perform on-call and maintenance duties outside office hours
