Intern (100%)
Your responsibilities:
Development, improvement, and maintenance of quality control tools with data analysis from laser line sensor (Gocator) and cameras on an aluminium strip production line. Implementation of SPC (Statistical Process Control) graphical monitoring of critical parameters on a continuous production line.
- Monitoring of a batch conformity prediction application
- Tracking ML model performance
- Continuous updating (Drift management)
- Flatness reports of strips with a Gocator
- Acquisition of strip profile via laser line sensor (in IBA or with C# code)
- Use of profile data to measure flatness
- Creation of reports / alarms
- Automatic verification of strip stamping
- Retrieval of returned laser intensity (with Gocator)
- Text detection (Computer vision + OCR)
- Comparison with instruction
- Defect similarity measurement via images
- Comparison of defects via a system of multiple greyscale images
- Search for batch with similar defects
- Reclassification of defects
- Defect detection on the strip
- Use of laser intensity from Gocators to detect defects
- Maintenance of web applications (model serving and reports)
How to convince us:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree or are currently pursuing a Master’s in engineering (EPFL, HES-SO or equivalent)
- You possess excellent analytical skills, an initiative spirit, and are passionate about technology and innovation.
- You are proficient in Python and basic programming (knowledge of C# is an asset) and have initial experience with SQL and Power BI
- You have knowledge in machine learning and deep learning (PyTorch), computer vision (OpenCV, OCR), including associated frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow) as well as embedding representation concepts
- Native French or German speaker, with good proficiency in the other language.
