Founding Engineer Product & Platform (m/f/d)
Our ROCKEN partner is developing an AI-supported software platform that automates complex request and offer processes in service-intensive industries. The solution connects email communication, AI agents, and existing specialist systems so that complex requests become binding offers within seconds – optionally with approval by employees. A young, technology-driven environment with flat structures, short decision-making paths, and plenty of scope for creativity is offered.
Role:
New product categories rarely emerge in large committees but rather in small teams with a high pace. This is exactly where the role of Founding Engineer Product & Platform comes in: You design a product from the ground up in which AI agents take over complex processes while the operation remains simple. Work is done with proven technologies such as React, Python, and AWS, used for demanding tasks. Short paths to the founders, direct customer contact, and releases in days instead of quarters are part of everyday life.
Responsibilities:
You design user interfaces with TypeScript, React, and Tailwind and make agent logic understandable for users without a technical background.
Backend services in Python (FastAPI or Django) are created by you, including orchestration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and integration of existing interfaces.
You model state machines and use PostgreSQL, Redis, and Node.js where they really fit.
Additionally, you operate on AWS with Docker and Infrastructure as Code including short deployment cycles.
Furthermore, you take responsibility for your features across the entire vertical slice.
You also gather feedback directly from users and quickly translate it into functioning software.
Qualifications:
You have at least eight years of experience in software development, primarily full-stack or backend and infrastructure.
You have already experienced a small startup team and know how products are created without heavy processes.
Concurrency errors in the backend do not deter you, and you can also deliver a clean frontend layout.
You capture requirements in conversation and sketch a viable solution at short notice.
Moreover, you consciously decide between viable architecture and pragmatic interim steps.
You also appreciate working in the office and bring fluent English and solid German skills.
