Lead Embedded Systems (m/f/d)
How do you stop a drone in mid-air? Our Rocken partner develops and produces intelligent interception systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. With electrically powered Sentinel systems reaching speeds of up to 230 km/h, the company protects critical infrastructures from unwanted aerial intruders. High-end engineering instead of standard software: This role is aimed at a technical leader who understands complex embedded systems, can professionally guide developers, and turn requirements into robust technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
Leading and coordinating interdisciplinary software and engineering activities for autonomous technical systems
Defining technical target architectures, development strategies, and architectural principles
Breaking down complex system requirements into clear software and engineering tasks
Planning releases, development phases, technical reviews, and integration steps
Technical support from the initial solution idea through implementation and integration to system verification
Ensuring consistent architecture and interface decisions across multiple software components
Establishing efficient development, testing, and quality processes
Managing technical collaboration between software, system engineering, testing, and quality
Building a reliable connection between requirements, architecture, implementation, and test results
Assessing technical risks and developing appropriate countermeasures
Moderating technical decisions and creating clear decision bases
Providing professional coaching to software engineers and fostering a solution-oriented engineering culture
Optimising existing development processes with modern automation and quality assurance approaches
Qualifications:
Technical degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a comparable field
Several years of professional experience in demanding software development
Experience with embedded software, real-time systems, or complex cyber-physical systems
Ideally a background in a safety-critical or heavily regulated technology environment
Solid knowledge of software architecture and systematic software development
Understanding of requirements, traceability, verification, and validation
Experience in technical leadership of development activities or engineering teams
Ability to reduce technical complexity and translate it into concrete work packages for developers
Structured and independent working style with a strong quality focus
Enjoyment in further developing technical standards and practically implementing demanding solutions
High sense of responsibility and strong ownership of technical results
