Located 15 km north of Lausanne, Echallens is a town that asserts its role as a regional centre. Its geographical location, in the heart of the Vaud countryside, makes it a prime spot for relaxation and conviviality, both through its environment and the warm welcome of its population.
Employing nearly 100 permanent and auxiliary staff, the primary mission of the municipal administration is to offer a quality welcome and service to its approximately 6,900 citizens and numerous visitors.
Due to the departure of the current post holder, the Municipality of Echallens is seeking a:
Versatile Employee for Public Spaces at 100% - Masonry Orientation -
Desired profile:
- Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a mason or road builder
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in masonry, ideally within a municipality (an advantage)
- Demonstrate versatility and the ability to acquire new skills
- Category B driving licence and licences for forklift trucks, tractors and construction machinery
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Good physical endurance
- Availability and flexibility in the evenings and some weekends
- Resident in the Gros-de-Vaud region
Tasks:
Carry out various maintenance works on public infrastructure, ensure the upkeep and cleaning of public areas (sweeping pavements, emptying bins, maintaining outdoor furniture). Perform various masonry tasks (building walls, installing guardrails or fixed barriers, bases, installing signage, curbs and routine maintenance of infrastructure). Participate in weekend cleaning services as well as snow clearance during the winter period. Occasional replacements at the municipal recycling centre.
Hours: 41.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday and some weekends
Start date: from 1 January 2027
