Platform Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
A modern IT platform needs more than functioning servers. The focus is on automation, scalability, security and intelligent operating models. This position is aimed at an ambitious Platform Engineer who combines cloud technologies with classic infrastructure and helps shape a powerful platform in the long term.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the technical stability and further development of the entire system platform
Design and optimisation of cloud and hybrid infrastructures
Engineering of Azure resources and standardised platform services
Operation of heterogeneous Windows and Linux environments
Automation of provisioning, configuration, deployment and maintenance
Development of reusable infrastructure-as-code modules
Development of self-service approaches for internal IT teams and business units
Integration and technical support of central corporate applications
Establishment of modern monitoring, logging and observability concepts
Identification of performance, security and availability risks
Implementation of DevOps and cloud projects from technical conception to productive operation
Further development of backup, recovery and business continuity concepts
Participation in the introduction of new platform technologies and automation standards
Support for users and internal ICT stakeholders with complex technical issues
Qualifications:
Solid education or degree in computer science, systems engineering, cloud engineering or a comparable technical field
Several years of practical experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering
Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Azure environment
Confident handling of Windows and Linux systems
Experience with virtualisation, network and basic security concepts
Practical experience in automation, scripting and infrastructure as code
Understanding of modern DevOps and platform concepts
Ability to systematically analyse and sustainably solve technical problems
Independent, precise and quality-oriented working style
Strong willingness to actively evaluate and implement new technologies
Azure, cloud or DevOps certifications are a plus
