Role:

In this role, you take holistic responsibility for complex system landscapes and ensure their stable, secure, and high-performance operation. You analyse existing infrastructures, plan and implement further developments, and ensure sustainable standardisation and automation. You are responsible for the reliable operation of the systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, as well as incident and problem management. As an experienced professional, you contribute your expertise in architecture and technology decisions and advise internal stakeholders on optimal solutions. Furthermore, you drive continuous improvements and strategically apply technical innovations to future-proof the system landscapes.

Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for the stable operation and maintenance of our data platform landscape on Linux VMs and Kubernetes, including technical application support (InterSystems, Denodo, DataRobot).
• In this role, you further develop our CI/CD pipelines and support developers with infrastructure as code based on Ansible AWX.
• You manage certificates, encryption keys, and privileged accounts, ensuring the highest security standards.
• In this role, you provide 2nd level support, monitoring, and close coordination with ICT operations, network, and IT security for reliable 24/7 operation.
• You lead technical sub-projects, document in Confluence, and independently carry out updates and release changes.
• As an experienced professional in system landscapes, you mentor our junior system engineer and promote their professional development.

Qualifications:

• You have a degree in computer science (apprenticeship, HF, FH, university/ETH) or an equivalent qualification.
• You have more than 5 years of practical experience in system engineering or comparable technical fields.
• You are proficient in administering highly available Linux-based data and virtualisation platforms and have a strong understanding of network topics such as routing, DNS, firewalls, and load balancers.
• You hold an ITIL certification, ideally complemented by qualifications in open source or databases/data engineering.
• You communicate fluently in German (C2) and confidently in English (at least B2); knowledge of French is an advantage.
• You work solution-oriented, creatively, and independently, demonstrate a high quality awareness and team spirit, and are willing to perform on-call duties.
