With nearly 1,200 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (D-MA) includes the Anaesthesiology, Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Intensive Care, and Emergency Services. It fulfils a fourfold mission through its services, which provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all Geneva University Hospitals, thanks to a transversal platform, with the aim of ensuring the best possible care for patients.

The Anaesthesiology Department is a transversal service of the HUG at the heart of the technical platform. With its 8 medical units and a research and innovation unit, its mission is to ensure the comfort and safety of patients during therapeutic or diagnostic procedures, medical or surgical, as well as during post-interventional care, while ensuring effective pain management.

As the largest centre in Switzerland in terms of the number of interventional procedures performed annually, the Anaesthesiology Department is at the forefront of advances in this field. The department also provides pre- and postgraduate and continuing education for nurses and doctors in specialised training. As a service provider, anaesthesiology also intervenes in the field of interventional pain management and in life-threatening emergency situations both in-hospital and pre-hospital alongside the Emergency Service.

As part of your role in the Anaesthesiology Department, you participate in patient care in collaboration with a large team of nursing and care assistant staff within the operating theatres or in the post-interventional care units.

You assist the patient with hygiene care or other daily living activities.

You ensure the maintenance and cleaning of anaesthesia equipment and devices according to the hygiene rules in force at the HUG.

You guarantee the refurbishment of the anaesthesia SAS, specific procedure baskets, and stocks between surgical interventions.

You also manage the stocks of routine materials used by the staff of the Anaesthesiology Department.

You hold a professional training certificate (AFP) as a care and support assistant or a care assistant certificate and have a perfect command of the French language, both written and spoken.

You have at least two years of experience in a hospital environment, ideally in acute care (emergency, operating theatres, intermediate care, intensive care, etc.).

Autonomous, you have a sense of priorities and good stress management skills.

You perform the tasks assigned to you with precision and rigour.

You are interested in technology and have good physical endurance.

Your good knowledge of the HUG and your adaptability are real assets for working within a large multidisciplinary team.

You work irregular hours spread over 7 days a week. Weekend and public holiday shifts are to be expected within the HUG physiotherapy network.
