Specialist in Patient and Service Management (PLM)

The Patient and Service Management (PLM) at the University Psychiatric Centre (UPZ) Bern is responsible for all administrative processes related to hospital stays – from admission through service recording and invoicing to the handling of the entire cost approval process.

For our dynamic and committed team, we are looking for you as a professionally competent individual who actively shapes our processes with initiative and enthusiasm for change. As a Specialist in Patient and Service Management, you analyse and optimise existing workflows, work closely with various departments, and contribute your knowledge purposefully to the team.

Together with your team colleague, you take responsibility for daily operations and simultaneously bring your expertise to the further development and optimisation of our processes. In doing so, you make an important contribution to efficient, high-quality procedures and strengthen collaboration between our clinics, management, and other stakeholders.

Your Tasks

• Together with your team colleague, you ensure the smooth handling of all daily operations
• You independently process specific case openings, case mutations, and case pendencies
• You ensure the correct and complete maintenance of master data
• You are the contact person for internal questions regarding case handling and competently support your colleagues with professional concerns
• You assist the department management in analysing, further developing, and optimising existing processes in close cooperation with the clinics
• You contribute to ensuring correct and timely invoicing of all services of our clinics and management
• You take responsibility for the supervision and support of our trainees
• You actively participate in various projects and bring your expertise, experience, and ideas to the further development of patient and service management

• You have successfully completed a commercial apprenticeship or hold a comparable qualification
• You bring sound knowledge in patient administration or professional experience in a comparable role
• Professional experience in healthcare as well as knowledge of Swiss tariff structures are advantageous
• You have good IT user skills and are confident in using MS Office
• You work independently, proactively, and in a structured manner
• You are a team-oriented, open, and friendly personality with a high degree of personal responsibility
• You present yourself professionally and goal-oriented and enjoy contributing in a dynamic environment
